In short

This website sets no cookies. It uses your browser’s storage for four small things, three of which are needed for the page to work. Analytics are off until you choose Allow analytics. The signed-in app sets cookies that are strictly necessary to keep you signed in.

This website and the ask widget

Third-party requests before you choose

Pages load typefaces from Google Fonts, which means your browser contacts Google and your network address reaches it. We are moving to fonts served from our own site. [REPLACE WITH SELF-HOSTED FONTS BEFORE LAUNCH] The developers reference is served from our own site and loads no script from another company. Cloudflare delivers the site and sees request details.

The signed-in app

These cookies are strictly necessary, so there is no banner for them.

The app also keeps a few interface choices in local or session storage, such as the theme, the last tab opened, an unsent question, and a draft stash.

Your choices

Change your analytics choice by clearing this site’s data in your browser, which brings the banner back. See the privacy policy, or write to [email protected].
